About Me
I am a certified bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist, providing individual and group treatment to individuals with a wide variety of communication and cognitive disorders, including difficulties with speech, language, articulation, voice and swallowing. I have vast variety of experience with both pediatric and adult populations. I strive to create and tailor therapy sessions to meet the needs of each clients goals. In addition, I provide support, counseling, and model techniques for caregivers in order to increase carry over between sessions. I dedicate myself completely to each and every client and have compassion towards the struggles and frustrations a communication impairment can have on individuals. I have worked in numerous settings such as schools, developmental centers, private practice, adult outpatient clinics and home health agencies. In addition, I provide therapy targeting accent reduction/modification for bilingual speakers in order to enhance articulatory precision. These techniques build confidence and aid individuals in achieving a more powerful communicative delivery system.

Testimonials
Our son is 4.5 years old and has been receiving speech language therapy from Joanna for 1.5 years. Our son’s speech has greatly improved. He has achieved most of his goals and now is able to verbally communicate his needs, which has made a big difference in his disposition. We are incredibly happy with the services.
We find Joanna very knowledgeable, professional, caring and patient. She is excellent at dealing with a stubborn preschooler, she uses different approaches to get him to cooperate. Joanna creates a relaxed environment but she doesn’t let him get away with anything, which is what he needs. She helps our son focus, keeps him engaged, and works on his speech using games and activities that are fun for him.
She is sympathetic and available to listen to our concerns and she implements solutions in her sessions with our son right away. She provides us with clear and concise feedback on his progress in therapy.
Joanna is a wonderful speech therapist! We very much appreciate her efforts!

I connected with Joanna Valevich right away. I tend to be hard on myself and easily discouraged, and she put me at ease and gave me a better way to look at the situation. She made me see that it was a challenge I could work at and make steady progress, however incrementally.
Joanna taught me various tools and techniques to help me speak better. She very supportive in a way that is both validating and encouraging, really listening what to what I needed and wanted.
Speech therapy is so much more than simple techniques and strategies, it is about building a relationship of trust, respect, and compassion. The best speech therapists are intuitive, empathetic, encouraging, positive and fun, while teaching clients to use their the strategies in practical situations, and Joanna has all of these qualities!
She is an invaluable, superb speech therapist, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Joanna to anybody who needs speech help!

Joanna has worked with our grandson for almost a year now. He will be turning 4 years old in a couple of months. Joanna is a bright, energetic, positive person who loves children and her profession. Everyone she works with feels her warm energy. Our grandson made an instantaneous connection with Joanna, which is the first ingredient necessary for progress.
Joanna is very experienced in her field of Speech Pathology. She knows what goals have to be worked on, and goes about working on them in a way that makes our grandson feel comfortable and confident. Our grandson loves the projects and games that Joanna surprises him with . Joanna does not work on speech in an isolated way. She introduces new concepts, and use of fine motor skills in combination with Speech therapy. Joanna welcomes family feedback and concerns, and gives her time and energy to collaborate and help family work along with her to achieve each goal. We see a lot of progress in our grandson’s speech since Joanna began working with him. Joanna is a hard worker. She truly delights in the joy of seeing her goals being reached in her students.
Our grandson loves Joanna for who she is, and we love her and appreciate her for who she is and all that she is doing for our grandson!
